Where we are
We are based at the River Dart Country Park in Ashburton, Devon at the heart of Dartmoor on the banks of the River Dart. With 90 acres of private parkland including onsite lakes and tree-top activities our location is unrivalled in our area.
River Dart Country Park is open every day except Christmas for visitors to enjoy. Children can run and play on our Pirate Ship lake and Adventure Playgrounds and our on-site facilities available for everyone. The Touring and Camping site is open from Easter to the end of September and all guests have free entry to River Dart Adventures.
Environmentally Friendly
We take our environmental responsibility very seriously and the spectacular setting and wealth of wildlife on and around the Park are important to us. Our environmental policy is such that we wish to enhance this. The company has dramatically reduced its Carbon Footprint by constructing our own hydro-electric generator using water from the river. This means we are self sufficient for 9 months of the year and it reduces our electricity consumption in the busy summer months.
We use environmentally friendly cleaning chemicals which contain no chlorine, our disposable plates, cups and cutlery are all biodegradable and we source our food from local producers and suppliers wherever possible.
Biomass Boiler and District Heating Scheme
We have installed a 132 kWh woodchip boiler with underground district heating pipes which provide hot water to both all amenity blocks, heating to The Old Sawmill, hot water and heating to three residential properties as well as Holne Park House, saving over 200 tons of carbon.
